About the Project
The E-Procurement Platform project involved designing and deploying a comprehensive digital procurement management system for government agencies and enterprise clients in Uganda.
The platform automates the full procurement lifecycle — from purchase requisitions and department planning through supplier evaluation, contract award, purchase orders, and invoicing — in one centralised, auditable system.
Built to handle multi-organisation procurement workflows, the system gives procurement officers, department heads, finance teams, and suppliers a single platform to manage all procurement activities with full transparency and compliance controls.
Business Challenges
Before the platform, procurement across government and enterprise institutions in Uganda faced significant operational challenges:
- Procurement requests were submitted via email or paper — creating delays, lost requests, and no audit trail.
- Approval chains were informal and undocumented — making it impossible to track who approved what and when.
- Supplier management was decentralised — different departments maintained their own vendor lists with no unified database.
